I am reading an interesting book that our tour guide in Israel gave me. It is called Justice and Only Justice: A Palestinian Theology of Liberation by Naim Stifan Ateek. It is a interesting and challenging study of what a Christian, who is a Palestinian thinks of what is going on in Israel.
I am 75% done reading this book and I can say that it has challenged my thinking. I believe it is good for us to be challenged with what we believe because most of us get our thinking and beliefs from the main stream media. I would challenge you to read this as well because it gives the other side of what we hear about Israel from a different perspective.
I had preconceived notions about what to expect when I went to Israel and what to expect from the people, and since being back I now look at that part of the world in a different light. I am looking forward to going back to Israel in March of 2009 and being challenged again.
