Dog Days of Summer

I know why people call this time of the year the "Dog days of summer". It's because it seems like it will be forever before the cool weather is back, and all most people want to do is stay inside or go someplace that is cooler. Not a lot of activity goes on this time of the year but before you know it the weather will start to drop below the century mark and we will become more active. But until that time comes we need to just push through the desire to lay around, avoid the heat and do nothing but lay around like a dog. However the work that is before us needs to be done and life just doesn't stop. It reminds me of Phil. 4:13 "I can do everything through Him who gives me strength." What a great verse to hold on to when we don't feel like we can go another step. Don't let the dogs of summer keep you from doing what God has called you to do!
