Priceline.com

I have never tried to get a hotel room through Priceline.com, but I was encouraged to do so because I was having a hard time finding a nice, but inexpensive hotel for vacation. Priceline.com is designed for you to pick an area you want to in, then give them a bid price for the room that you are willing to pay, and then submit all of this info without knowing the exact hotel you are bidding on. Since I am a planner by nature, this is out of my comfort zone, but if I could save a lot of money and get a nice place near the beach, I was willing to try it.

I picked a four-star hotel as my category, picked a place near the beach, and then threw out a ridiculous low bid price. It was not accepted on my first bid try, but on my second bid (I increased my bid by $15) they accepted my offer! I going to stay at a great hotel for only a 1/3 of the normal price for a room! It pays to listen to friends- Thanks Fred!

I can't wait to put my toes in the sand!
